Triterpenoids represent a kind of secondary metabolites found in terrestrial and marine flora and fauna, which have a wide variety of biological activities and pharmacological properties, such as anti\|oxidation, anti\|inflammatory, anti\|cancer, anti-anaphylaxis, anti\|virus at all. The study of triterpenoids has become a research hotspot in various fields in recent years. Besides, oxidative stress, inflammation, angiogenesis and many other factors involved in the occurrence and development of different eye diseases. The role of triterpenoids in eye diseases, such as corneal diseases, uveitis, glaucoma, cataract, retinal diseases, optic neuropathy, retinoblastoma etc, have been widely studied.(Int Rev Ophthalmol, 2016, 40: 384-390)
